Gerard López Busquets

For me, cinema is a poetic assemblage—a meeting point of images, sounds and silences, where what usually remains hidden can finally emerge. My work navigates the border between fiction and documentary, allowing reality and imagination to blur in search of truth.

Since childhood, the camera has been a companion to explore both inner and outer landscapes. Through it, I’ve found ways to translate emotions, dreams and gestures into visual language. Poetry, too, has shaped my gaze—teaching me that a single image, like a word, can carry a universe.

I studied Creative Documentary at Pompeu Fabra University, where I deepened my approach to filmmaking as a form of reflection and experimentation. Today, I write, direct and produce through La Chica del Limón and Salva al Gato, two independent production companies I co-founded. My practice seeks cinematic freedom and emotional resonance, always guided by the beauty of the in-between and the cracks in everyday life.
